Premium E61 tune-up kit featuring the IMS E61200RNT reinforced Nanotech shower screen with integrated membrane and Nanoquartz coating for maximum durability, cleanability, and extraction consistency.

Description

A complete, performance-focused and durable upgrade kit for E61 grouphead espresso machines. This kit combines four essential components that directly influence how your machine extracts espresso and maintains pressure over time. Each part is selected for durability, precision, and compatibility with daily use.

  • E&B Lab Nanotech Shower Screen (200 µm membrane)
Ensures more even water distribution across the coffee puck and reduces buildup thanks to its low-adhesion nanotech covered surface. The most durable option on the market. Made in Italy.
  • Cafelat Silicone Group Gasket (8 mm)
Provides a stable, flexible seal with longer lifespan compared to standard rubber gaskets. Improves portafilter fit and reduces leaks.
  • Molykote 111 Silicone Grease
Supports proper gasket installation and operation. Prevents sticking, tearing, and premature wear. Made in USA.
  • Paper Shim (Spacer)
Allows fine adjustment of portafilter lock-in position if needed.

These components work together as a system:

  • the E&B LAB screen controls how water reaches the puck
  • the gasket controls pressure and sealing
  • the grease ensures smooth operation and durability
  • the shim corrects mechanical fit when needed

When combined, they restore the grouphead to stable, predictable performance.

Compatibility

The kit will work with Rocket Espresso, ECM, Quickmill, Vibiemme, Lelit 58mm, Wega, San Remo, Bezzera, Expobar, Faema, Iberital and other E61.

Compatibility Notice: please verify your exact machine model and portafilter diameter before ordering, as brands often use different sizes across models. If you are unsure, contact us before purchasing - we’re happy to confirm compatibility.

Instructions & Care

Installation Instructions

  1. Turn Off & Unplug
Ensure your machine is switched off, unplugged, and completely cooled before starting.
  2. Remove old shower screen and gasket.
  3. Clean the Group Head - wipe away loose coffee grounds, then use a brush or backflushing method to clean thoroughly. This ensures your new parts work at their best.
  4. Add paper shim if needed for tighter lock-in.
  5. Lubricate sides of a new silicone gasket with just a small amount of compound.
  6. Place gasket with shower screen into group head and use Portafilter to lock it in.
  7. Test the Installation. Run a short shot of water without coffee to check for proper water flow and sealing.

Care & Maintenance Tips

  • Backflush Weekly - use a blind filter and espresso machine cleaning powder to backflush your machine regularly, preventing coffee oil buildup.
  • Rinse After Each Use - after brewing, run water through the group head for a few seconds to keep the shower screen clean.
  • Wipe & Inspect - periodically remove the shower screen and rinse under warm water. Wipe down the shower holder to prevent residue buildup.
  • Replace Gasket as Needed - while silicone gaskets last longer than rubber, replace them when they become loose, brittle, or discolored - usually every 1 year, depending on usage.
  • Avoid Harsh Scrubbing - the IMS shower screen’s Nanotech coating is designed for easy cleaning - avoid abrasive pads that could damage the surface.
  • Never put these parts in a dishwasher.
  • Never soak in harsh chemicals.

Help & Advice

What does the IMS shower screen improve?

The IMS integrated membrane design helps distribute water more evenly across the coffee puck, improving extraction consistency and reducing uneven saturation.

Is this difficult to install?

No. Installation is straightforward and typically takes only a few minutes with basic tools.

Why replace gasket and screen at the same time?

Because both are removed during the same process - and both affect extraction. If you replace only one:

  • Old gasket can still leak
  • Old screen can still distribute unevenly

Result: Partial improvement only.

How do I know if my gasket needs replacing?

If you're experiencing leaks around the portafilter, difficulty locking it in, inconsistent shots, or see visible wear (cracks, flaking), it’s time to replace the gasket.

Can I use tools to install or remove the gasket?

No. Sharp tools like screwdrivers can tear silicone. Always use your hands or a plastic tool to safely install or remove the gasket.

How do I clean the silicone gasket?

Simply wipe it with a damp cloth or wash gently with warm soapy water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbers.

What makes silicone gaskets better than rubber ones?

Silicone gaskets are food-safe, odorless, and tasteless. They don’t bake hard over time like rubber, making them easier to install and remove, while also providing a longer-lasting, more reliable seal.
