Instruction:

1. Prepare group head
   Shut off brewing, remove portafilter, and use a group brush or cloth to clear any coffee residue from the shower recess.
2. Remove old screen and gasket
   Unlock and remove the existing shower screen and silicone or rubber gasket. Clean the area thoroughly.
3. Install gasket (if replacing)
   Grease the inner walls of the new gasket with a small amount of food-safe silicone grease (available on our shop). Position the gasket (flat side down) so it sits properly into the group.
4. Insert the IMS shower screen
   Place the E61200NT screen coated side facing upward on top of the gasket.
   Lock it in by twisting in the portafilter. The portafilter secures both gasket and screen in place.
   Tip: Add the paper shim first if your portafilter locks in too deeply (available here)

Cleaning and Maintenance

Daily
Backflush with hot water immediately after use to prevent oils from building up.

Weekly/monthly deep clean
Remove the screen and soak it in a solution of hot water and espresso machine cleaner
Avoid abrasive scrubbing - use a soft brush or cloth after soaking.

Rinse thoroughly
Ensure all cleaner or residues are rinsed away before reinstalling to avoid contamination.

Do not use harsh chemicals or wire brushes
These can damage the nanoquartz coating and the precision-etched membrane.

Inspect regularly
Check surface integrity, pore uniformity, and confirm coating remains intact.
Some users report the coating may degrade over time with harsh cleaning.
