The Verybarista Precision Shower Screen features an exclusive perforation pattern with additional precision laser-cut holes around the central mounting screw.

These additional holes help compensate for restricted water flow in the center. This promotes more even water distribution across the whole coffee puck. More uniform extraction brings out a cleaner, more balanced flavor in the cup.

Developed specifically for Breville/Sage 54 mm espresso machines. The screen fits the original group head perfectly.

Installation

Remove the original shower screen and gasket. Thoroughly wipe the group head with a clean cloth.
If reusing the original gasket, clean it thoroughly before installation.
Fit the gasket into the group head first. Carefully insert the new shower screen, ensuring its entire outer edge sits securely inside the gasket's inner lip.
Reinstall the original mounting screw. Tighten gently without overtightening.
Before testing the water flow, wipe the screen completely dry. A dry screen is essential for observing the fine, rain-like water distribution. Residual moisture can cause water to collect into larger streams.

Cleaning

Rinse regularly to remove coffee residue.
Use a soft brush and mild detergent when needed.
Avoid abrasive cleaners and metal brushes.
Never wash in a dishwasher, never use/soak in harsh chemicals

Maintenance

Periodically remove the screen for thorough cleaning. Inspect the gasket for wear and ensure the screen is correctly seated when reinstalling.

Water Flow

Uneven water streams without coffee in the portafilter are normal and do not necessarily indicate uneven extraction. Water flow depends on surface moisture, water pressure, and other conditions. Always evaluate extraction performance when brewing espresso.

Uneven flow from the group head is typically caused by a clogged or worn shower screen or buildup behind it. Solution: Replace or upgrade the screen - the IMS design improves distribution.

Will this screen eliminate channeling or improve every espresso shot?

The optimized perforation pattern promotes more even water distribution, particularly around the central mounting area. Extraction also depends on grind size, dose, puck preparation, and coffee freshness. The shower screen is one part of a well-balanced espresso setup.

Will this IMS shower screen affect pressure or flow rate in my machine?

Yes, but in a positive and controlled way. The 200 µm integrated membrane provides a more even and gentle water dispersion, which can slightly reduce initial pressure spikes and improve espresso puck saturation. This leads to a more balanced and stable extraction, especially when using lighter roasts or finer grinds.

Why doesn't the water always fall in even, rain-like droplets?

Water naturally forms different streams depending on surface moisture and flow conditions. For a rain-like effect, wipe the screen completely dry before running water. Uneven streams without coffee in the portafilter are normal and do not necessarily indicate an extraction problem.

Why replace gasket and screen at the same time?

Because both are removed during the same process - and both affect extraction.If you replace only one:

Old gasket can still leak
Old screen can still distribute unevenly

Result: Partial improvement only.
