History & Innovation

Introduced by Faema in 1961, the E61 group head revolutionized the espresso industry with its solenoid-operated version, offering a thermally stable method for brewing espresso. Over 60 years later, the E61 design remains the most popular and widely used group head model in the world.

Thermal Stability

Crafted from heavy-duty chromed brass, the E61 group head weighs approximately 9 lbs (4.5 kg) when fully assembled. This substantial mass helps maintain stable and consistent temperatures throughout the brewing process. Paired with the integrated thermo-siphon system, which circulates water to reduce hot spots, the E61 ensures smooth, even extraction for every shot.

By far the best price I found & importantly it's the genuine E 61, NOT a knockoff. My 24 y/o espresso machine was looking beat up due to the chrome finish on the E 61 was suffering & during the 2014 earthquake cups etc rained down on the E 61 putting nicks on it. Now my machine looks new again, almost and the overall performance is radically improved. It only took a week for delivery which is great considering it was shipped from Europe. Great service from VeryBarista! I recommend getting crow feet wrenches for this job as disconnecting & reconnecting the two plumbing lines are in a very tight area. I received a quote of over $400 & I've seen them from $290-$330. VeryBarista' price of $219 was the best by far. I'm now hoping to get another 5-10 years from my Isomac Tea espresso machine.
