Q: Is it safe to wash this filter basket in a dishwasher?

Yes, technically it is safe to wash an IMS filter basket in the dishwasher, as it’s made of high-quality stainless steel. However, it's not recommended for a couple of reasons: Harsh detergents and high temperatures can dull the finish or affect any coatings (like nanotech coating, if present). Dishwasher residues may build up in the tiny holes and affect coffee flavor or flow. Best Practice: Hand wash with warm water and mild detergent. Use a soft brush to clean out the holes if needed. This will maintain performance and longevity.

This filter basket is crafted in Italy by IMS for La Pavoni espresso machines with 60mm portafilter. Cylindrical shape with a narrowing at the base creates a compact coffee pod which allows the coffee to get a better extraction and space for the coffee volume. Optimized and patented hole pattern maximizes flavor, highlighting sweetness, ripe fruit, and crema. The patented IMS perforation system ensures enhanced water flow and flavor extraction, producing richer crema and pronounced sweetness. Made in Italy. IMS Code: B602TH25, B602TH29E

Compatibility

La Pavoni lever, made after August 2000: Europiccola, Stradivari, Romantica, Picopresso. Also fits Gaggia G105, G106, New Olympia Cremina.

Instructions & Care

Before first use: Rinse thoroughly with warm water or run a blank shot through your machine with the basket in place to remove any manufacturing residue.

Daily cleaning: After each use, knock out the puck and rinse the basket under hot water to remove coffee oils and residue.

Monthly maintenance: Soak in a solution of espresso machine cleaner and hot water for 15–30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly before reuse.

Avoid abrasive tools: Use a soft brush or cloth to clean. Do not use steel wool or harsh scouring pads as they may damage the surface.

Storage: Keep the basket dry and store it in a clean environment when not in use.

Why was my IMS basket packaging open?

IMS packs baskets in a small cardboard sleeves that may sometimes shift or loosen in transit. This does not mean the product is used or fake. Every basket we sell is new, unused, and shipped exactly as we receive it from IMS.

Could I have received a “fake” IMS basket?

No. All our IMS baskets come directly from IMS in Italy, in their official packaging.
